5 Essential Supplies That Will Take Your Bullet Journal to the Next Level

I earn commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

When I first began bullet journaling, I had to have ALL of the bullet journal supplies. I found myself buying supplies more than I was actually using them.

What I’ve grown to learn is that it’s not about the number of supplies you have that’s important. Furthermore, you don’t have to break the bank in order to have an attractive bullet journal. Really, all you need is a selection of supplies that you love to journal with.

If you bullet journal, you know that when it comes to supplies, there are a lot of options to choose from.

Here are my favorite bullet journal supplies that will take your bullet journal to the next level.

#1. Notebook: Leuchtturm1917

The Leuchtturm1917 is one of the most popular journals for bullet journaling and for a good reason. The Leuchtturm1917 is a high quality, and sturdy journal. It comes in a multitude of color options and has bleed-proof pages. Plus, the pages are dotted, which helps guide your handwriting and drawings.

Alternative: If you don’t want to pay $20 for your journal, priced at around $10, the Minimalism Art is a good alternative.

#2. Pens: Sakura 50075 16 Piece Set

The Sakura 50075 16-Piece Pigma Micron pens are a fantastic set of felt tip pens. The colors are vibrant, and I haven’t experienced any bleeding or smearing with these pens.

Alternative: Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens

#3. Washi Tape

Washi tape provides a simple way to personalize your journal. I recommend reading Brandi’s article Washi Tape Hacks to Make Your Bullet Journal Better, for different ways you can incorporate washi tape into your bullet journal.

My favorite place to buy washi tape is Etsy. The galaxy washi tape in the photo can be purchased from The Archive Stationary shop.

If you’re looking for a great deal, you can purchase your washi tape from Amazon. You can get upwards of 50 rolls of tape for under $10.

#4. Stencils

Jaydens Apple is my favorite place to purchase stencils for my bullet journal. I highly recommend giving this shop a browse if you’re looking for stencil supplies that will take your bullet journal to the next level. One of my favorite stencil sets from Jaydens Apple is the Bullet Journal Essential Stencil Set.

If you prefer to do your shopping on Amazon, check out the Paxcoo 6 Pcs Stainless Steel Journal Stencils. These stencils include ribbons, banners, arrows, hearts, and so much more.

#5. Stickers

Etsy is a great place to find a wide variety of unique and useful stickers to use for your bullet journal. The Sugar Loop shop on Etsy has habit trackers, flags, checklists and more.

Another shop I like is Turtles Soup. They have a super cute selection of vinyl stickers to choose from.

Planner Envy is another great shop for buying stickers for your journal.
