free Lynda.com subscription

In this post I want to share a quick tip that not many people seem to know about.

Have you heard of the site Lynda.com? If you haven't, Lynda.com is an online learning website that has thousands of business, technology, and creative online courses and tutorials.

The Lynda.com website currently has 2 learning plans, basic and premium. The basic plan starts at $19.99 per month, and the premium plan starts at $29.99 per month.

The basic plan includes:

  • Unlimited learning from all 5,576 courses
  • Watch on your computer, phone, tablet or TV

The premium plan includes:

  • Unlimited learning from all 5,576 courses
  • Watch on your computer, phone, tablet or TV
  • Project files and code practice
  • Assess your progress with quizzes
  • Offline viewing

Also, in case you didn't know, if you have a LinkedIn profile, whenever you finish a course on Lynda.com, you'll receive a certificate of completion that you can post to your LinkedIn profile.

When I first discovered Lynda.com, I was blown away by the site and was happy to see that they offered a free 30 day trial. However, once my trial ended, I felt that the monthly subscription cost was a little too expensive and decided not to continue my subscription.

How to Get A Free Lynda.com Premium Subscription

Last year, I decided to get a library card as a way to support my local library as well has have the ability to borrow ebooks for my Kindle. After I received my card, the librarian informed me that as a card holder, I now had free access to the premium Lynda.com subscription (a $29.99 monthly value).

I was so happy to discover that I now had access to all of the courses, project files, and quizzes from Lynda.com for free.

I highly recommend that you visit your local library and see if a free Lynda.com subscription is available to you as a card holder.
