As a blogger, it can sometimes be a challenge to come up with blog post ideas. It can be even harder to create content that your readers will enjoy.

In this post, I'll share with you a blogging tip that I use to find blog post ideas.

Although I've been in business for nearly five years, it was only a year ago that I learned how to leverage the power of Google Analytics. Shame on me, I know.

If you don't have Google Analytics installed on your blog, I highly recommend that you get it set up.

If the set up process intimidates you, the Google Analytics by MonsterInsights plugin makes integrating Google Analytics a breeze.

So let's get into exactly how I use Google Analytics to find blog post ideas my readers will enjoy.

How to Find Blog Post Ideas Using Google Analytics

The first thing you want to do is log in to your Google Analytics account. Once logged in, go to Behavior > Site Content > All Pages.

What will come up are your blogs top pages and posts ranked according to the number of pageviews for the chosen date range.

If you're not sure how to change your date range, you can do so in the top right-hand corner of the page.

date range

To get a more accurate look at your most popular posts, I would select a date range of at least 3 months.

Because both pages and posts are included in this list, I would take a sheet of paper and write down your top 10 blog posts.

I use this information to determine what type of content I should include on my blog. For example, from using this technique, I've learned that my readers love my detailed "how to" posts. Knowing this, I make sure to include more posts like this on my blog.

There you have it. A quick and easy way to find blog post ideas your readers will enjoy using Google Analytics.
