Step 1: Create Your Header Image
If your theme uses a custom header image, you must first create the image using an image editing program and save it as a JPEG or PNG file. Your image can be any size you want. You don’t have to use the themes recommended header size.
Themes that use a custom header:
- Creative – click here to see colors and fonts used for the header
- Inspired – click here to see colors and fonts used for the header
- Serenity – does not require a custom header, but does require you to upload the graphic provided in the themes “Images” folder.

Step 2: Upload Your Header Image
In your wp-admin, go to Appearance >> Header and upload your header image. You will find the recommended header size in this area. However, your image can be any size you want.
When asked to crop, select “skip cropping,” if you don’t want to crop your image. Don’t forget to save your changes.
Step 3: Hide Your Site Title
To hide your site title, in your wp-admin, go to Appearance >> Customize >> Site Identity and uncheck the Display Site Title and Tagline box. Save your changes.
