One of the qualities people tell me they admire about me is my ability to stay motivated and keep going. People closest to me think that I was born with a magical ability to push through the toughest times with ease.
Well, this just isn’t true.
From the outside looking in things always look so perfect, don’t they?
You see another blogger or business owner, and think they’ve got it all together.
Things are going so smoothly for them, while you’re over here struggling.
I’ve got news for you.
They’re struggling too. I struggle too.
Since opening my business nearly 5 years ago, there have definitely been times when I felt like quitting for one reason or another.
Maybe I didn’t feel like I was good enough, or popular enough, or talented enough, or maybe I just wasn’t making enough money.
And even though I’ve had those thoughts, here I stand… still.
And it’s not because I was born with the ability to push through anything.
And it’s not because I’m a super positive and highly motivated individual.
It isn’t the inspirational books, motivational quotes, and popular online courses that keep me going.
What do I do to keep going? Well, I keep going.
It’s that simple.
When I’m not making enough money, I keep going.
When I don’t feel motivated, I keep going.
When I feel like giving up, I keep going.
I don’t allow my feelings to determine how I run my business.
What I do is create habits that force me to do the things that most quitters don’t want to do.
If you’re reading this and you feel like giving up on your blog or business, please don’t do it.
If you need a break, take it, but don’t close your doors for good.
I want you to know that you are not alone on this difficult journey. Because while difficult, it is also rewarding. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be doing it.
