If you’re running a business, I can’t stress enough the importance of having great customer service. As a business owner, you should be treating every single shopper (yes, even the difficult ones) the same way you would want to be treated as a customer.
Be courteous, helpful, patient, and always respond to emails promptly. When you have great customer service, customers are more likely to:
- Purchase your product
- Become repeat customers
- Leave positive reviews
- Refer your product or service to others
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve received messages from customers telling me how thankful they are for my prompt reply, or helpfulness. Good customer service has become a rarity. Have you noticed that good customer service has become so rare that the moment you receive it, you’re absolutely amazed?
It’s easier to keep a customer, than to gain a new one.
Every time a customer returns to your store, they are more likely to come back again, and again. Turn your customers into raving fans by providing excellent customer service.
Trust me when I say having great customer service will make your business stand out, and help you attract new customers in today’s competitive market.
Listen to your Customers
After you’ve had your shop open for a while, you’ll probably find yourself getting the same questions, or feedback over and over again. Take this information and use it to improve your shop.
When I first opened my shop, a common question I would get is if my themes had a live demo. This taught me that it’s really important for potential buyers to be able to see the theme live before they make their decision to purchase it. After I made the decision to create live demos for my themes, I noticed an increase in sales (and less email of course).
By listing to your customers and giving them what they want, you’re not only making sure they’re satisfied, but you’re also increasing your income.
Use Your Reviews
If you customers have been kind enough to leave you a raving review, you can use these positive reviews when promoting your products or services. For example, you can share them in tweets, or even place them in blog posts.
Whenever I create a blog post about a new theme in my shop, I try to make sure I insert one of my positive reviews into the blog post.
For shoppers, being able to see that people who have made a purchase from you had a good shopping experience is really important. It shows shoppers that you are trustworthy, and provide a quality product or service.
When it comes to running a business, a little kindness can go a long way. I am grateful for each and every customer and client that I get, and the way I show that is by providing them with excellent customer service.
