If you’re wondering if the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course is worth it, I’m sharing my results after enrolling in the course.
One goal I’ve had for my business is to make money with affiliate marketing. When I first began affiliate marketing, like a lot of us, I would stick a few affiliate links in my blog posts, and expect to make thousands.
Needless to say, I saw very minimum results with this method. Thankfully, Michelle released her course called Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.
My Results After Taking The Course
After implementing the advice provided in this course, my monthly affiliate income more than tripled!
As you can imagine, I was absolutely amazed! After months of going about affiliate marketing the wrong way, I finally knew what I was doing, and it was working.

Course Bonuses
I also love the bonuses that are provided with the course. My favorite bonus is having access to the Facebook Mastermind group.
In this group, I’m able to connect with other course members, learn their tips and techniques, and share my own.
Also, twice a month there is a free group coaching call with Michelle herself. During this time you can get feedback from Michelle, as well as ask her questions about affiliate marketing.
This group is so helpful and supportive and has been invaluable to me.
If you want to start making passive income with affiliate marketing, I recommend taking the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course.
If you’re like me and are sometimes hesitant about investing in online courses, Michelle has been kind enough to stop by and introduce herself as well as answer a few questions about her course.
Interview with the Course Creator
1. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

Hey! My name is Michelle Schroeder-Gardner and I run Making Sense of Cents. I graduated from college in 2010 with two business degrees, and again in 2012 with my Masters with an emphasis in Finance.
I started out as a financial analyst and worked in that position for a little over 3 years.
I started my blog in August of 2011, all just as a hobby, but it now consists of my full-time business and pretty much my life.
Me and my husband sold our house last year, and we now travel full-time (along with our two dogs), due to our blog. We absolutely love life and traveling!
2. Can you share your motivation behind starting your blog?
In August of 2011, I started my personal finance blog with the hopes of teaching people how to save money after reading a magazine that featured a personal finance website in one of their articles.
Due to that website, I became extremely interested in personal finance blogs, and my interest in blogging just grew from there. Before August of 2011, I didn’t even know that blogs existed.
I didn’t know what they were, I didn’t know that they could make money or anything like that.
I did not create my blog with the intention of making money blogging. It was really all just a hobby.
I started it as a way to use it sort of like a journal – to help myself manage my money better, to help others, and to join the personal finance blogging community (because it is so awesome!).
My beginning blog posts on Making Sense of Cents were mainly about my $40,000 student loan debt and how to pay off student loans quickly, and it has grown from there to cover pretty much anything related to personal finance and living your dream life.
Anyway, after three years of blogging, I left my financial analyst job so that I could blog full time. This is the best decision I have ever made.
On Making Sense of Cents, I talk a lot about different ways to make extra income, money saving tips, living your dream life, RVing (me and my husband RV full-time), and more.
I love running Making Sense of Cents and I am very happy that this is now my full-time career, my business, and pretty much my life.
3. Why do you prefer affiliate marketing over other monetization methods, such as providing a service?
I definitely prefer affiliate marketing over the other methods of making money blogging because it can feel quite passive.
You can create just one blog post or social media post, and potentially earn money from it years down the line, as long as you maintain it and keep generating traffic to it.
With affiliate marketing, I can enjoy life more and know that I am still able to earn a great living promoting products that I use and enjoy.
Think about it this way: If you already enjoy a product, why not get paid to promote it?
I started out my blogging career providing a lot of services, mainly freelance writing.
However, I have stepped away from providing services and now I’m pretty much all about my blog. I prefer to be in control of my own future. 🙂
4. Does a blogger have to have a certain number of monthly page views before implementing affiliate marketing as a monetization strategy?
No, a blogger does not have to have a certain number of monthly page views before implementing affiliate marketing on their blog.
I have several new bloggers who are successfully taking my Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course and are already earning affiliate income.
This is why I highly recommend taking my course, even if you are a brand new blogger. Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing is a great learning tool, even if you are a brand new blogger.
By taking my course, you will start off blogging the correct way. You can learn from my affiliate marketing mistakes and learn the best ways to start making an income by being an affiliate.
Through taking this course you are sure to grow a profitable blog quicker than the average blogger, as you’ll learn exactly what you need to know about affiliate marketing.
So, even if you only have one blog post or a low amount of page views, you are ready to get started with this course!
5. Do you think that any blogging niche can make money with affiliate marketing?
Yes! Any blogging niche can make money with affiliate marketing. There is ALWAYS something that a niche can promote.
Also, the lessons in my Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course can be applied to any blogging niche.
Whether you write about lifestyle, travel, finance, family, fashion, DIY, food, business, or anything else, you are able to apply everything to your affiliate marketing strategy.
6. Isn’t affiliate marketing just throwing a few affiliate links on your blog?
So many people think that affiliate marketing is just throwing affiliate links on a blog, and this is why the majority of people are not successful with affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is so much more than that, and I go over the many successful strategies related to affiliate marketing within my Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course.
7. Will students be able to ask you questions throughout the course?
Yes! This is one of the big things that my current students have said that they love about Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.
By joining the private mastermind group that is available to all course members, you have access to me and everyone else in the course.
Also, two Saturdays a month, there will be a group coaching session in the private Mastermind group for students in the course.
It is called “Ask Michelle Saturday.” This is your time to get feedback and support from me, and you can ask any questions related to your business, course material, your affiliate strategy, blog, and so on.
I will answer every question in the group coaching session.
8. What is the #1 thing you want potential students to know about the course?
The number 1 thing that I want everyone to know is that YOU can make money through affiliate income, and you can do it in a non-salesy way. So many people are afraid of affiliate marketing because of two reasons:
1. They don’t think they have a large enough platform.
2. They are afraid of being too “salesy.” I have never had someone tell me that I’m salesy or pushy, and I’ve even had people ask me how I make money through affiliate marketing because they never see me try to sell things.
So, yes, it is possible to provide high-quality content for your readers without being pushy! I teach you the exact ways in the course, plus many other topics so that you can become a successful blogger.
I’d like to thank Michelle for taking the time to tell us more about her course. I have seen amazing results after implementing Michelle’s tips and techniques.
If you’re interested in affiliate marketing or have tried to earn money with affiliate marketing with little to no results, I highly recommend taking the Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing course.
