Did you know that Etsy has over 800,000 active sellers? This makes your chances of being found through Etsy search quite low. This is especially true if you’re in a saturated market.
When you have a business on Etsy, it’s so important that you have traffic coming in to your shop from multiple sources. Remember, Etsy is only a platform to sell your products. Etsy is not responsible for bringing traffic to your shop, you are.
If I could only offer one piece of advice about growing your business on Etsy, it would be to promote your products outside of Etsy.
A few ways you can promote your business on Etsy is though your blog, guest posts, Facebook groups, and social media.
1). Create A Blog
The number one way I recommend promoting your products or services is through your own blog. If you’re selling something online, it’s imperative that you have a blog for your business. Blogs are a great way to connect with your customers, build an email list, and of course promote your products or services.

2). Guest Posts or Interviews
Writing guest posts or participating in interviews on other blogs is a great way to widen your audience. When writing guest posts or participating in interviews, be sure you’re doing so on a site that has an audience that would have an interest in the products you sell or services you offer. Also, make sure the site owner will include a link back to your shop in the post.
3). Facebook Groups
Facebook groups are a great way to network with other bloggers and business owners. Because of Facebook groups, I have had the opportunity to connect with like-minded, and motivated business women from all around the world.
These communities allow you to ask questions and get answers, share each other’s work, and receive encouragement and support in your blogging or business journey.
Facebook groups are my number one recommended way to get an instant boost of traffic to your blog or shop. This is because most groups have organized “share days” where everyone supports each other by re-pinning pins, visiting and commenting on blog posts, and sharing each other’s latest products or services.
There are thousands of Facebook groups out there. To get you started, a few of my favorite Facebook groups are:
- Creative Entrepreneurs by Marketing Creativity (this group is great for Etsy shop owners)
- Savvy Business Owners
- The Ladypreneur Community
- Blog + Business BFFs

4). Social Media
Social media is a great way to promote your blog posts and products or services. When using social media, don’t use it to solely promote your stuff. Generously and genuinely share the content of other bloggers.
When you share content from other bloggers, it helps build relationships, and makes it more likely that they will share your stuff too. This in turn brings more traffic to your blog and Etsy shop.
Furthermore, did you know that people love shopping on Pinterest? That means pinning your products to Pinterest should be a part of promotion strategy.
