Made with Budget-Friendly Yarn

I chose one of my favorite budget-friendly yarns to make this blanket, Lion Brands Pound of Love yarn. This yarn is perfect for blanket making because it’s affordable, soft, and you only need two balls of yarn to make a beautiful lapghan size blanket.

When I first saw the color I chose for this blanket, I immediately thought of fall and pumpkin spice. So imagine my surprise when I saw that the name of the yarn was actually “pumpkin spice.” It was meant to be!

Pumpkin Spice Blanket Sizing Notes

The Pumpkin Spice blanket is 36″ x 48″, which makes it a nice lapghan size blanket. Lapghans are smaller in size than traditional afghans. I find lapghans to be the perfect size for snuggling up with when I’m reading a good book.

What I love about this blanket is that you can easily make it as big or small as you want. Just be sure to chain an even number of chains, then follow the crochet pattern until your blanket is the size you want.

Below I’ve included a blanket sizing guide to assist you in finding the right size for your blanket.

Blanket Sizing Guide

  • Baby Blanket: 36 x 36 inches
  • Toddler Blanket: 40 x 60 inches
  • Lapghan: 36 x 48
  • Throw Blanket: 48 x 60
  • Twin Bed: 65 x 90
  • Double Bed: 84 x 90
