Woodland Blanket Sizing Notes

The Woodland blanket pattern includes two sizes: 36” x 48” (Lapghan Size) and 48” x 60” (Throw Size). You can easily make it as big or small as you want. Just be sure to chain in multiples of 4 plus 2 stitches, then follow the crochet pattern until your blanket is the size you want.

Below I’ve included a blanket sizing guide to assist you in finding the right size for your blanket.

  • Baby Blanket: 36 x 36 inches
  • Toddler Blanket: 40 x 60 inches
  • Lapghan: 36 x 48 inches
  • Throw Blanket: 48 x 60 inches
  • Twin Bed: 65 x 90 inches
  • Double Bed: 84 x 90 inches

Materials:

  • Lion Brand Scarfie 312yds #5 Bulky weight yarn in color Mushroom Blush. Lapghan Size: 5 skeins and Throw Size: 9 skeins
  • US size K 6.5 mm crochet hook
  • Stitch markers (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Size(approximate): 36” x 48” (Lapghan Size) and 48” x 60” (Throw Size)

Follow the key throughout the pattern based on the size blanket you are crocheting: (Lapghan, Throw)

Gauge (4in x 4in): Approximately 14 sts and 4 rows

Size Adjustment: To adjust the width of your blanket, start with a longer or shorter chain. The pattern has a chain multiple of 4 plus 2 stitches. If you want to adjust the size of your blanket, chain in multiples of 4 and add 2 stitches to that. For example, if you were to chain 12, you would then add 2 stitches for a total of 14.

Make sure you keep your yarn needs in mind when adjusting the size of your blanket.

  • The chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
  • If you have trouble identifying the first or last stitch of the row, use stitch markers to help you keep track.

sc – single crochet

Woodland Blanket Crochet Pattern

To begin ch (128, 170)

Row 1: Place 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across. Ch 1 and turn. (127, 169 sts)

Row 2: In the 1st st work (1 sc, 1 hdc, and 2 dc sts) all in the same st. *Skip 3 sts and in the 4th st work (1 sc, 1 hdc, and 2 dc sts) all in the same st.* Repeat from * to * until you have 4 sts remaining. Skip 3 sts and place 1 sc in the last st. Ch 1 and turn.

Repeat row 2 until your blanket reaches (48”, 60”) or your desired length. Ch 1 and turn, and place 1 sc in each st across. Fasten off and weave in ends.
