If you’re looking for a blanket that’s easy, fun, and beautiful, you’ll adore this easy bobble blanket crochet pattern.
One thing I loved about working on this blanket is how the pattern changes up enough to keep you entertained throughout the process, while still being mindless enough to crochet while watching TV or listening to an audiobook.

Materials:
- 12 Lion Brand Wool Ease Worsted Weight in color Natural Heather
- US size H 5.0 mm crochet hook
- Stitch markers (optional)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Size (approximate) 48″ x 60″
Gauge (4in x 4in): Approximately 12 hdc sts and 8 rows
Size Adjustment: To adjust the width of your blanket, start with a longer or shorter chain. The pattern has a chain multiple of 3 plus 4 stitches. If you want to adjust the size of your blanket, chain in multiples of 3 and add 4 stitches to that. For example, if you were to chain 12, you would then add 4 stitches for a total of 16.
Make sure you keep your yarn needs in mind when adjusting the size of your blanket.
Pattern Notes:
- The chain 2 does not count as a stitch.
- For more pronounced bobbles, work the hdc that follows the bobble stitch (dc5tog) firmly.
- If you have trouble identifying the first or last stitch of the row, use stitch markers to help you keep track.
Abbreviations (US):
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
dc5tog – double crochet 5 together (also called the “bobble stitch”) *Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through the first two loops on the hook. Repeat until you have six loops on the hook, then yarn over and pull through all loops to create a bobble.*
