Make the crust using the color bark (dark brown)

We’re going to sc around the toast.

Note: It can be difficult to see your stitches when crocheting along the sides. Just do your best here. The stitch count is not important.

Round 1: Attach your yarn to the bottom right corner of the toast, ch 1 and place 2 sc sts in the same stitch. Sc up the right side of the toast, the top of the toast, and down the left side of the toast. When you reach the bottom left corner, place 3 sc sts in the corner st.

Continue to sc along the bottom of the toast. When you reach the corner where you started, work 1 sc in the corner space, then sl st to the first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Make the butter using the color banana (yellow)

To begin Ch 6

Row 1: Place 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. Ch 1 and turn. (5 sts)

Rows 2-4: Hdc in each st across. Ch 1 and turn.

After you complete the final row, with your yarn still attached, ch 1 and sc around the butter. Whenever you reach a corner, place 3 sts in the corner. When you arrive back at the corner where you started, place 3 sts in that corner.

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the butter onto the RS of the toast. I recommend attaching the butter to a corner so that there’s room for a mug to sit.
