It’s a simple pattern that works up quickly, and the dishcloth turns out nice and large at about 12” x 12” inches, which is a few inches bigger than my usual 9” x 9” dishcloths.

I’ve shared the free crochet pattern below so you can make your own dishcloth in about an hour or so.

Materials:

  • I used exactly 1 skein of Lily Sugar’n Cream cotton yarn (120yds). I recommend buying 2 skeins to be on the safe side to get the full 12” x 12” dishcloth.
  • US size H 5.0 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Size (approximate) 12” x 12”

Size Adjustment: To adjust the size of your dishcloth, start with a longer or shorter chain, using any number of chains. Follow the crochet pattern until your dishcloth is the size you want.

Pattern Notes:

  • The chain 2 does not count as a stitch.

Abbreviations (US):

ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
hdc blo – half double crochet back loop only
hdc flo – half double crochet front loop only
sl st – slip stitch
