Lately, I’ve been having so much fun designing shawls. After finishing my prayer shawl, I couldn’t wait to start another shawl design, but this time I wanted to create something even simpler.

You can find the free pattern below, or you can purchase the ad-free printable PDF from my shop.

My goal was to design a shawl that works up fairly quickly and uses just the basic stitches, making it a great project for anyone looking for an easy, relaxing crochet pattern.

If you know how to chain, slip stitch, and double crochet, you already have the skills you need to make this shawl!

I’ve included a video tutorial to help guide you through the pattern from start to finish. Now, let’s get to the pattern so you can start crocheting your own cute triangle shawl.

Materials:

Size (approximate): The wingspan of my shawl is 65 inches. You can make your shawl any size you want!

Gauge (4in x 4in): Not important for this pattern, but mine is approximately 13 sts and 8 rows.

Abbreviations (US):

ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
sl st – slip stitch
dc – double crochet
( ) – parenthesis: stitches are all worked in one stitch or space

Pattern Notes:

  • The ch 3 counts as a stitch.
  • The yarn can be substituted with your preferred yarn and hook size.
  • As you crochet, you may notice the shawl beginning to curl or bunch up. This is completely normal and will smooth out once the shawl has been blocked. Block your finished shawl using your preferred method. I like to wet block shawls made with natural fibers and steam block those made with acrylic yarn.
