If you want a quick make that looks right at home on a coffee table, this Classic Coaster is for you. The design is round with a simple vintage look, and you can finish a coaster in about 15 minutes.

You can find the free pattern below, or you can purchase the ad-free printable PDF from my shop.
This pattern uses cotton yarn, which helps the coaster soak up drips and protect your surfaces. You can use acrylic yarn if that’s what you have, but keep in mind the coaster won’t be as absorbent as cotton.

Materials:
- 1 Lily Sugar ‘N Cream 120yds cotton yarn
- US size G 4.0 mm crochet hook
- Stitch marker (optional)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Size (approximate): 4.75”

Pattern Notes:
- The ch 3 counts as a stitch throughout the pattern.
- If needed, you can place a stitch marker in the top of the ch 3. This will help identify the ch 3 throughout the pattern.
- If you find that your coasters aren’t lying flat, you can steam them with a steam iron (do not place the iron directly on the coasters) or use a clothing steamer to help them lay flat. I personally don’t bother with this, as the coasters flatten pretty quickly with use.
Abbreviations (US):
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
sk – skip
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
