Materials:

Size (approximate): 5”

Pattern Notes:

  • The ch 3 counts as a stitch throughout the pattern.
  • If needed, you can place a stitch marker in the top of the ch 3. This will help identify the ch 3 throughout the pattern.

sk – skip
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch

Bright New Day Coaster Pattern

To begin Ch 4 and sl st to 1st ch to join and form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout pattern), work 11 dc into the ring. Sl st to top of ch 3 to join. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3, work 1 dc in same st, then work 2 dc in each st around. Sl st to ch 3 to join. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 3, work 2 dc in same st, ch 1, sk next st, *work 3 dc in next st, ch 1, sk next st.* Repeat from * to * around around until you reach the last st where you will ch 1, sk the final st and sl st to top of ch 3 to join. (48 sts)

Round 4: Ch 3, work 1 dc in next st, then work 1 dc in each st and ch 1 space around. Sl st to top of ch 3 to join. (48 sts)

Round 5: Ch 3, work 4 dc in same st, *sk next st, sc in next st, sk next st, work 5 dc in next st.* Repeat from * to * around until you reach the last 3 sts, then sk next st, sc in next st, sk next st, then sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off and weave in ends.
