If you’re looking for a crochet blanket pattern that is perfect for beginners, this cozy, chunky blanket is perfect for you!
There’s nothing quite like wrapping yourself in a chunky blanket. The thick yarn creates a plush, warm texture that’s perfect for snuggling up on a cold day. Not to mention, chunky blankets look amazing and will add a cozy touch to any room.
I chose to use the mesh stitch for this blanket because it gives it the perfect amount of texture. If you’re new to crochet, this is your chance to learn a fun new stitch!

Cozy Chunky Blanket Sizing Notes
The Cozy Chunky blanket is 36″ x 48″, which makes it a nice lapghan size blanket. Lapghans are smaller in size than traditional afghans. I find lapghans to be the perfect size for snuggling up with when I’m reading a good book.
What I love about this blanket is that you can easily make it as big or small as you want. Just be sure to chain an even number of chains, then follow the crochet pattern until your blanket is the size you want.
Below I’ve included a blanket sizing guide to assist you in finding the right size for your blanket.
